This complex and enigmatic image is accidental art — it was originally made not for beauty, but as a blueprint for finger gestures made while playing the game Temple Run on an iPad. Does this look like a character dodging obstacles while picking up coins, pursued by a demon monkey? Maybe not, but its swooshing, overlapping paint streaks reveal one of many possible paths a character could take in that endeavor. The artist is exploring these possible paths, too, in the oil-stained finger smudges developers left while designing the game.
