A filigree of purple-blue, grid-like lines is overlaid with shocking spotches of deep red. Rivers of gold wind around the edges. This intensely colored composition maps areas of New York City where tourists and locals snap pictures. The artist used geotagging data from Flickr to map the areas where tourists take photos as red dots and where locals shoot pictures as blue. Times Square, Central Park, the World Trade Center, and the Statue of Liberty are all highlighted as tourist hotspots. The yellow sections are places where the artist couldn't determine whether the photographer was a tourist or a local.
