A grid made up of horizontal slats dances, flashing black, white, then fading to grayscale. The artist says that in fact, none of the colors actually change; the image patterns are revealed just by the cubes' rotation creating an illusion of a pixel canvas. The whole composition seems to move to a silent music, shimmering between “on” and “off”, open and shut, black and white. Depending on where you look, you might see rotating slats like Venetian blinds gone awry; a basketweave design that moves around the digital canvas; or horizontal lines of cubes that fade in and out.
