A lone potted plant “watches” an outdoor scene, either through a window or on a big screen in an empty office. The scene shows simply the faceless facade of another building. This digitally rendered image is part of a larger narrative project, “City of Work,” which sprang from the tedium of the artist’s day job. The almost cinematic quality here disrupts the suffocating familiarity of the office-worker's habitat, shedding an absurdist light on ordinary objects. Showing us this ubiquitously normal environment in an altered context gives us an inkling of the ever-present possibility of creative impulses and alternative views fluttering just below the surface.
