Baja Dust by NASA

Baja Dust, 2011

A swath of moving white wind cuts across the center of this satellite image of Baja California and the Pacific coast of Mexico. The dust storm looks like a misty veil of paint over abstract textured shapes and areas of deep blue color. We know, of course, that these areas are land and water: the Gulf of California is the finger of water at right that separates the Baja Peninsula from the mainland.
