A textured sunburst dominates this image. What do you see — a giant fossilized dandelion? The iris of an eye? Or an abstract sculptor's fantasy? There’s a marbled, puckered central section — a flower center, if you’re going with the dandelion — and the frilly edges of the disk could be its frayed petals. Misty pale blue overlays most of the center, seeming to flow over the edge at upper left. We’re actually looking at a volcanic crater on Mars, with steep walls rising to the planet’s surface.
