Olavo Azevedo

Two tiny figures at the end of the passageway provide scale, and a sense of alienation: humans dwarfed by the architecture they’ve created. The monochromatic image is a study in contrasts — the wall at right is a velvety black, so dark we can’t make out its contours — while the wall at left catches some light, which fades it to gray. The floor of the hallway is a lighter shade, leading our eye along it to the two small figures and the world outside these walls.
