Our Art / Andre Woolery
Andre Woolery is New York-based artist whose practice spans painting, installation, and digital art. His work explores how technology affects the way we create new artistic avenues made possible through digital innovation using aesthetic links between digital and handmade work. His latest project Invisible Hieroglyphics is a collaboration with Victor Abijaoudi that produces beautiful, “handmade” images that reveal the path of the finger when navigating touch screens. The series of taps and swipe used to interface with apps for everything from daily productivity, to social networking, to gaming, are captured and presented as enigmatic, painterly compositions that recall abstract expressionism.
