Our Art / Anna Valdez
Known primarily for her still lifes, observational paintings and landscapes, Valdez explores a variety of digital media platforms to create references for her paintings. Using the still life to navigate autobiographical themes, Valdez incorporates various household items such as her clothes, quilts, blankets, houseplants, drawings, paintings, books, records, and vessels as source material for her work.
Anna Valdez received her MFA in painting from Boston University. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States including Bedford Gallery, Masur Museum of Art, the Danforth Museum, Boston University Art Galleries, Hashimoto Contemporary Gallery, The Rebecca Hossack Gallery, Parts Gallery and En Em Art Space.
