Our Art / David Kozlowski
Texas-based photographer David Kozlowski has earned international renown for creating work that deliberately blurs the lines between nature, photography, design and digital technology. His fascination with unearthing organic details of the physical world has motivated him to take more than 30,000 photographs of seemingly mundane subjects such as the interior of a dandelion after a rainstorm or a water stain on an abandoned concrete wall. At this level of detail, hidden aspects of the landscape become visible. Employing at times after effect processing systems, or what he calls “generative digital art,” Kozlowski’s rich body of work alludes to the artifice in all digital technologies and simultaneously highlights the range of possibilities embedded within them.
