A French photographer, Le Bègue (1857–1914) was a French photographer who is best known for his nudes. A leading figure of the Pictorialist movement, this collective of artists emphasized photographer’s unique expressions through experimentation with the new medium of photography. Le Bègue explored more complex printing techniques that imitated other graphic arts, manipulating prints by hand and using unusual pigments to create photography that resembled chalk drawings.
